CrossFit Total

After a general warm up, you will have the remainder of the hour to find a 1RM in each of the following exercises:

Back Squat

Press

Deadlift

-Your score will be the three maxes added together

- You must perform them in the above order

- After your warm  up sets you will get official attempts at each lift

- You may not go back to an exercise after moving to the next

Compare to: July 17, 2012  [My Previous]

Here are some basic precautions that need to be followed for safety:

1) Don’t be stupid.

Don’t total if you’re injured to the extent that a total will aggravate the problem. This will cost you in at least training time, and possibly time off of work if you’re ultra-stupid.

2) Don’t be greedy.

Learn to recognize the difference between greed and ambition, and be merely ambitious.

3) Don’t be pig-headed.

If your first attempt tells you that you need to lower your second, do so, without a misplaced sense of diminished self-worth. It’s a test, and it’s designed to measure what’s there, not create something that’s not. That’s what training is for.

    745# Total
    275 BS (pr 20#)
    125 Press (baseline)
    345 DL (pr 35#)

On Sunday, I hit a 225 front squat for a 1RM PR, so I’m surprised how good the legs were feeling this AM.

(The frustrating thing is that I thought I was dead lifting 225 but when I took the weights off I had a 25# plate on one side and a 15# plate on the other! grrrrrrrrrrr The chase on 225 has begun……)

This was at 5:15 am. I really hope we have some 1 rep back squat and deadlift on separate days, I think I can do better on both on separate days.

    BS 103 (20# PR)
    Press 48 (3# Pr)
    DL 103

Struggling to bring my sholders up first with the deadlift. When I get that down, I expect to see lots of improvement. Not my best dealift performance, but better form, so I’ll take it!

After yesterday, I was pretty excited about this one.

Back Squat: 220# (15# PR) I probably could have gone higher but I was running out of time for the other 2.
    Press: 106# (1# PR)
Deadlift: 261# (Technically for me, this was a 21# PR. I’ve been stuck at 240# for almost 4 years after doing 260# once.)

    Total: 587 :)
