Name: Morgan Cornell
Tell us about yourself. Where are you from and how did you get here?
I am born and raised in Woodstock. I graduated from Kennesaw State University last May with a bachelors degree in Chemistry. I planned on continuing my education to pursue dentistry but have found other passions.
How long have you been a member at The Garage?
Almost 4 months now and loving every bit of it.
How did you find The Garage?
I passed the garage everyday and always wondered what Crossfit would be like. I saw a Groupon and said no better time to try it than now.
What do you like about working out at The Garage?
I like the type of different workouts everyday. I push myself harder in a group setting and love working out with my group. I am so glad I have started this journey with the Garage and I thank everyone for the support.
What do you do for a living?
I am the international and inside sales rep for Deerland Enzymes. We specialize in enzyme and probiotic based dietary supplements (a lot of which you see in health food stores). We have a great product that helps digest a variety of proteins along with an increase in sports performance and recovery.
What are your hobbies and interests?
I love to cook and try new restaurants. I love to do anything that involves being outside. I would definitely say working out is a hobby and huge part of my life. I plan my day around the gym and never thought I would wake up at 4:30am to do it.
What is something interesting about you most people don’t know?
Some people have no idea I am a natural red head. I thought it was obvious but I guess only when my hair is pulled up.
This is tough since I love food but I would have to say Mexican is my favorite. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast. My favorite treat would have to be sushi and a double doozie chocolate chip cookie 🙂
Favorite music to workout to?
I like all types of music, however, hip hop is definitely my favorite. The music during the 5am class is interesting but that’s what happens whenJoe Cambre picks it?
Favorite WOD, lift or skill?
My favorite lift would be power cleans and back squats.
WOD, lift or skill you never ever want to do again?
Pull ups and T2B don’t agree with me. Anything to do with the bar is a struggle for me but I’ll over come that one day.
What’s your proudest CrossFit/lifting achievement to date?
I am proud of all my 1RMs and that I can lift more than I thought with a little encouragement. I am proud of my progress with HSPU and DU.
What’s on your bucket list? Or what are some goals you are trying to accomplish? (either at the gym or otherwise)
I would love to travel and see the world – wild life in Alaska, Australia and snowboard in Colorado. A goal of mine is to work hard to see how my body can transform. I am ready for change!
Anything else you want to include?
Hhmm, I love beer. I would call myself a beer critic. There’s nothing like a cold beer in the summer or on the lake. I want to visit as many breweries as I can. My dream is to have my own brewery one day or something like Truck N Tap.
If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Ellen DeGeneres… Why not!? I have always wanted to be a guest on her show and dance. She chooses to change the lives of others and those in need. I think she is a funny and amazing person.
I would of said God but I’ll meet him one day!
If you were trapped on a deserted island, what three things would you want with you?
My dog, blue moon, and a radio!!!
