Of recent debate has been the decision to chalk or not to chalk.  Ultimately there is one thing that you must try to achieve when performing high rep movements on a bar.  That your hands DO NOT MOVE.  Movement of the palm is what causes the skin to blister, grab, and rip.  So make the decision to chalk or not to chalk based on what you are feeling in your hand movement.

For repetitive cleans, you might begin to blister on the inside of the thumbs between the thumb and index finger, if you feel tenderness developing here, TAPE your thumbs!
